An extract from the Lancaster Royal Grammar School Alumni magazine:

OLs [Old Lancastrians] Ben Layton, Johnny Clark and Paul Hutchison have recently completed a bike ride in memory of their friend and OL, Martin Sutherland, who passed away in 2011. The bike ride was organised to mark what would have been Martin’s 35th birthday. Throughout the trip, the group went through Brussels, Maredsous and Dinant, exploring beautiful medieval towns as well as some breweries. They were sure to sample some Belgian beers while they were there, which Ben says “is the only part Suths would’ve liked”.

Throughout this, his 60th birthday year, Andrew has undertaken a few sporting challenges with the aim of raising money for MHRUK. The challenges started with a 15,000ft skydive on the actual birthday day and from which he is still in recovery! Thereafter came The Great Manchester Run (10K); The Great North Swim; a one-mile outdoor swim event in Ullswater and a one-mile outdoor swim event in Coniston Water. The challenging year ended in the successful completion of the Great North Run in Newcastle.

To date (and including Gift Aid) Andrew has raised somewhere in the region of £1700 for MHRUK … indeed a worthy cause.
