Martin Sutherland Music

Mental Health Research UK

When Martin died, his family began searching for an organisation to give their support to in his memory. The idea of research was an important criteria in that search, and eventually the family found Mental Health Research UK.

According to their own website:

Mental Health Research UK is the first UK charity dedicated to raising funds for research into the causes of mental illnesses in order to develop more effective treatments with fewer side-effects.

The Trustees set up the charity in 2008 because this research gap desperately needed to be remedied (Charity No: 1125538).

Although some of the well-established mental health charities fund a small amount of research into the causes of mental illness, their main focus is helping those who are afflicted now.

MHRUK wants to change things for future generations – and make a difference in the long-term.

The family hope that Martin's music can be heard and enjoyed by many and also used to raise funds for this much needed cause.

You can find out all about MHRUK on their website, and follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
